Kanye did it again
Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11:41AM Runaway. This 35 minute long film makes this (by Spike Jonze) look like a home video. Honestly though, I think it's great. I think more "artists" should film and direct their own work. Daft Punk did it with Electroma and it was absolutely brilliant. Pink Floyd pretty much did it with The Wall. Kanye's film is lucid and surreal with a lot of unexplained motifs. Destruction? Birds? We all know Kanye is special. He's a self-proclaimed voice of a generation. We've all seen the way he acts. I really believe that this is how he sees the world. This isn't weird to him. He was filming his every day life. Who doesn't wear white dinner jackets and take exotic and beautiful bird women to a dinner inside an airplane hanger then start singing on top of a piano while ballerinas prance about? Well, his album is appropriately called "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy."
